A song about that ancient Greek atomic theory that everything's made out of one thing, that still continues in the search for the elementary particle, the basic building block of the universe. Instead of an atom, a quark or a Higgs Boson, I chose a grain of sand, which is pretty small. And once upon a time, the estimate was that there were as many grains of sand as stars in the universe, although now it's more like one to ten. The song references Shakespeare's Hamlet, Galileo's telescope and Da Vinci's Vetruvian Man. It's an agnostic prayer. Ashes to ashes, sand to sand.
